We really need 2-3 more trained, qualified therapeutic recreation specialist trained tabletop, electronic, and live-action role-playing game masters ASAP! We work with a wide range of special needs populations in therapeutic and educational settings. Our programs are heavily CTRS standards driven. There are a lot of requirements we need you to meet, so please pay careful attention. Game Master for Role-Playing Games Level 1 Certification Candidate Start Part-time, Potential Full-time Depending on Performance Employee Additional details here: http://www.rpgtherapy.com/about/employment-opportunities/open-opportunities/level-1-gm-for-trpg-part-time-employee _We have multiple part-time to full-time employment openings for RPG Tabletop Game Master Level 1 Certified (and certification candidates). _ STARTING HOURS: During probationary period 0-4 hours per week (no guaranteed hours, but generally we will only hire you if you can begin working at least 4 hours per week).* Probationary period is 90 days, at the end of which, if your review numbers are favorable, you will gradually be provided opportunities to increase your hours up to 40 hours per week over time. * MAXIMUM HOURS: Potential over time for full time up to 40 hours per week maximum. Potential to be promoted to full time based on employee performance over time. PAYMENT FREQUENCY: Once per month on the 5th of each month. WAGE: $20-$60 per hour based on experience, certifications, performance evaluations, and client contract agreements. START DATE: February, March, or April depending on client contract agreements. REQUIRED (NON-NEGOTIABLE): MUST EITHER CURRENTLY HAVE, OR BE CURRENTLY VERIFIABLY WORKING ON LEVEL 1 GAME MASTER CERTIFICATION FROM RPG THERAPEUTICS LLC, (or alternatively training toward RPG Research’s GM Level 1 Trainee diploma.) MINIMUM 5 YEARS GAME MASTER FOR TABLETOP ROLE-PLAYING GAMES. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN THE GREATER EASTERN WASHINGTON & NORTHERN IDAHO AREAS, INITIALLY SPOKANE, LATER INLAND NORTHWEST, AND LATER GREATER NORTHWEST (WA, ID, OR, MT). MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORTATION MUST PASS CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK BEFORE WORK BEGINS _Department(s): Entertainment / Recreation_ Location(s): HQ in Spokane, Washington, providing services to Eastern Washington State, Northern Idaho, Northeastern Oregon, Western Montana, and online. Reports to: Program Director Description: The Level 1 Game Master (GM1) will run regular tabletop role-playing game sessions with clients, at various client locations. The GM1 may need to teach new players how to play the applicable role-playing game. Key Tasks and Responsibilities The GM1 will: Prepare to run tabletop role-playing game sessions (TRPG). Provide prepared player character sheets for players, including pregenerated when appropriate. Run TRPG sessions for clients, including children, adults, and seniors. Typically run 3-5 players per session. Sessions last 3 hours, with 30 minutes setup/preparation before session, and 30 minutes post-session clean up and documentation (4 hours paid per session). Transportation costs are not provided, though reimbursement for miles to/from client sites (only) may be reimbursed through your own tax deducations with state and IRS based on IRS guidelines. Sessions will vary from 1-shots to ongoing campaigns recurring weekly or every-other week. Prepare adventures in accordance with our Codes of Conduct, Professional Standards, Rules and Guidelines, Documentation, Established Protocols & Methodologies. Provide and gather player assessment forms and enter into journal system Complete GM assessment forms. Address any group interpersonal issues, and maintain players compliance with Player Code of Conduct. Education and Training Required minimum Level 1 GM Certification (or current verifiable certification candidate, or RPG Research GM 1 Trainee diploma) Required minimum 3 years D&D 5th Edition DM experience Prefer Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) Prefer at least 5 years experience with other non-D&D game systems. Prefer at least 3 years The One Ring RPG LM experience Prefer at least 1 year No Thank You Evil GM experience Prefer at least 1 year experience with Doctor Who RPG GM experience Prefer at least 1 year experience with Adventures in Middle-earth RPG GM experience Optional but preferred: Other RPG Related certifications/training. Recreation /event management training/certification. Therapeutic Recreation /Recreational Therapy training or certification (CTRS) American Sign Language proficiency Other languages proficiency Knowledge and Experience Required: 5+ years experience as GM for TRPG. Preferred: 10+ years experience as Game Master (GM) Working knowledge/experience with therapeutic recreation / recreational therapy. Working knowledge/experience with playing 1+ music instruments. Working knowledge/experience with music therapy.
